I don’t understand fake tans and (over the top) sun tans, they’re unnatural and wrong. I should clarify, I have nothing against a casual sun tans. If it’s sunny and you want to get a bit of colour then lay on your grass topless, if you’re on holiday and want to spend your 7 days soaking as much sun as you can then by all means don’t forget the sun cream and enjoy!

But to the those who have to spend every minute the sun is out on the grass, to those who have to spray themselves silly, to those who spend hours in ‘sun beds’ what is wrong with you? There’s no need, and everyone judges you. It’s messy, it’s silly and no, no one believes you just jetted off to Jamaica to get that orang!
But my dislike for the fake aside, why is it acceptable in society to tan like there’s no tomorrow but not to bleach your skin to be lighter? Why can girls colour their skin to achieve something but not to lighten it? Both have some threats to health, and both are just as ridiculous and fake and both should be just as unaccepted. There are very few things I don’t understand, but changing your skin colour is top 5. Society is getting more and more fake (boobs, lips, hair, eyelashes) and I genuinely cannot respect someone who needs to change something as basic as their skin colour. If you’re that insecure then please, get some professional help.
